 (हस्तिनो नख इव ।) पुर्द्वारियत् कूटं तत् । इत्यमरः । २ । २ । १७ ॥
द्वारो-परि दुर्गार्थं यत् कूटं मृत्तिकाराशिस्तस्मिन्हस्तिनखो दम्दमा इति ख्यातः । दुर्गद्वारा-वरणार्थः क्रमनिम्नोन्नतखातोद्धृतमृत्कूटोहस्तिनख इत्यन्योऽपि । दुर्गपुरद्वारसमीपेयुद्धार्थं यद्वहिरतटमन्तःसोपानयुक्तं मृत्कूटंयत्र स्थित्वा विपक्षेषु काण्डादिकं क्षिप्यते तत्रहस्तिनखो वुरुज इति ख्यात इत्यपरे । हस्तिनोनख इव हस्तिनखः । इति तट्टीकायां भरतः ।(यथा, माघे । ३ । ६८ ।“शनैरनीयन्त रयात् पतन्तोरथाः क्षितिं हस्तिनखादखेदैः ।सयत्रसूतायतरश्मिभुग्न-ग्रीवाग्रसंसक्तगुगैस्तुरङ्गैः ॥
