 (स्वस्ति मङ्गलस्य वाचनम् ।)माङ्गल्यकर्म्मारम्भकालीनवक्ष्यमाणमन्त्रोच्चारण-पूर्व्वकतण्डुलविकिरणम् । तन्मन्त्रो यथा । अमुककर्म्मणि पुण्याहं भवन्तो ब्रुबन्तु । इत्युक्तेपुण्याहमिति ब्राह्मणैस्त्रिरुक्ते अमुककर्म्मणिऋद्धिं भवन्तो ब्रुवन्तु । ततः ऋद्ध्यतामितिब्राह्मणास्त्रिब्रूयुः । एवं स्वस्ति भवन्तो ब्रुवन्तु ।इत्युक्ते स्वस्ति इति ब्राह्मणास्त्रिर्ब्रूयुः । ततः ॥
स्वस्ति न इन्द्रो वृद्धश्रवाः स्वस्ति नः पूषाविश्ववेदाः । स्वस्ति नस्तार्क्ष्योऽरिष्टनेमिः स्वस्तिनो वृहस्पतिर्द्दधातु ॥
इति पठित्वा तण्डुलान्विकिरेत् ॥

प्रमाणं यथा, व्यासः ।“संपूज्य गन्धपुष्पाद्यैर्ब्राह्मणान् स्वस्ति वाचयेत् ।धर्म्मे कर्म्मणि माङ्गल्ये संग्रामाद्भुतदर्शने ॥
”धर्म्मे कर्म्मणि इति सप्तमीनिर्द्देशात् अमुक-कर्म्मणि स्वस्ति भवन्तो ब्रुवन्तु इति ब्रूयात् । यमः ।“पुण्याहवाचनं दैवे ब्राह्मणस्य विधीयते ।एतदेव निरोङ्कारं कुर्य्यात् क्षत्तियवैश्ययोः ॥
सोङ्कारं ब्राह्मणे ब्रूयात् निरोङ्कारं महीपतौ ।उपांशु च तथा वैश्ये शूद्रे स्वस्ति प्रयोजयेत् ॥
”इत्युद्वाहतत्त्वम् ॥

अपि च ।नन्द उवाच ।“अलक्षितोऽस्त्रिन्रहमि मामकैरपि गोव्रजे ।कुरु द्विजातिसंम्कारं स्वस्तिवाचनपूर्व्वकम् ॥
