e. g. पाणिनि, शाकटायन, शर्ववर्मन् , हेमचन्द्र and others. In Panini's sys- tem, Panini is called Sutrakara, as contrasted with Katyayana, who is called the Varttikakara and Patanjali, who is called the Bhasyakara
