Englishसत्यसन्ध / SATYASANDHA. I. (satyavrata, satyasena, SANDHA). One of the hundreds ons of dhṛtarāṣṭra. The following information about this satyasandha is from mahābhārata.(1) This satyasandha was one of the eleven great chariot-fighters in the army of the kauravas. (M.B. Ādi Parva, Chapter 63, Verse 119).(2) This satyasandha stood as the bodyguard of śalya and fought in the bhārata-battle. (M.B. bhīṣma Parva, Chapter 62, Verse 17).(3) abhimanyu wounded him in the bhārata-battle. (M.B. bhīṣma parva, Chapter 73, Verse 24).(4) sātyaki showered arrows on satyasandha. (M.B. droṇa parva, Chapter 116, Verse 7).(5) Bhīmasena killed satyasandha in the battle of bhārata. (M.B. karṇa Parva, Chapter 84, Verse 2).
सत्यसन्ध / SATYASANDHA. II. One of the two followers given to subrahmaṇya by the god mitra. The other follower was suvrata. (M.B. śalya Parva, Chapter 45, Verse 41).
सत्यसन्ध ३ / SATYASANDHA III. An ancient king in india. There is a story in mahābhārata, śānti Parva, Chapter 234, Verse 16, as to how, this king satyasandha, who was an observer of vows and fasts, saved the life of a Brahmin by sacrificing his own life.
