Śruta-kakṣa is mentioned once in the Rigveda^1 as the Ṛṣi of
a hymn, the authorship of which the Anukramaṇī (Index)
ascribes to him. A Sāman or chant of his is mentioned in the
Pañcaviṃśa Brāhmaṇa.^2
