शीलवान् / ŚĪLAVĀN. A divine sage. In mahābhārata,  Dākṣinātyapāṭha,  Udyoga Parva,  Chapter 83,  there is a reference to a conversation between this Maharṣi and śrī kṛṣṇa.

 शीलवान्,  [त्] त्रि,  (शीलमस्यास्तीति । शील +मतुप् । मस्य वः ।) शीलविशिष्टः । सत्-स्वभावः । यथा,  --“पथ्याशिनां शीलवतां नराणांसद्वृत्तभाजां विजितेन्द्रियाणाम् ।एवंविधानामिदमायुरत्रचिन्त्यं सदा वृद्धमुनिप्रवादः ॥
”इति मलमासतत्त्वम् ॥
सद्वृत्तः । इति शीलशब्दार्थदर्शनात् ॥
