Vṛka-dvaras is found in one passage of the Rigveda, ^1 which
Ludwig^2 interprets as referring to a battle against Vṛkadvaras,
king of the Śaṇḍikas. But this is quite uncertain. Roth^3 and
Oldenberg^4 incline to read vṛkadhvaras. Hillebrandt^5 suggests
Iranian connections, but without any clear reason.
