Sanskritविभूतिः, (वि + भू + क्तिन् ।) अणिमादि-कमष्टधा । तत्पर्य्यायः । भूतिः २ ऐश्वर्य्यम् ३ ।इत्यमरः ॥
(यथा, ऋग्वेदे । १ । ८ । ९ ।“एवाहिते विभूतय इन्द्रमावते ॥
”“विभूतयः ऐश्वर्य्यविशेषाः ।” इति तद्भाष्येसायणः ॥
) शिवधृतभस्म । अस्य शिवस्यअणिमाद्यष्टप्रकारं वैभवं विभूत्यादिपदत्रयं वाच्यंकेचित्तु विभूतिर्भूतिरिति द्वयं शम्भुधृतभस्मनिअणिमाद्यष्टके तु ऐश्वर्य्यमित्याहुः । विभवत्यनयाविभूतिः क्तिः भवतेः क्तिः भूतिः विग्रहणमन्यो-पसर्गनिरासार्थं ईश्वरगुणैश्वर्य्यं भावे ष्ण्यःअणिमादि लघिमादि । तथा च ।“अणिमा लघिमा प्राप्तिः प्राकाम्यं महिमातथा ।ईशित्वञ्च वशित्वञ्च तथा कामावशायिता ॥

अणुत्वमणिमा येन सूक्ष्मो भूत्वा विचरति ।लघुत्वं लघिमा येन वायुरिव लघुतरो भवति ।प्राप्तिरभीप्सितप्रापणं प्राकाम्यमिच्छानभिघातः ।महिमा महत्त्वं येन चतुर्द्दशभुवनान्यस्योदरेवर्त्तन्ते । ईशित्वं प्रभुता येन स्थावरजङ्गमादि-भूतान्यादेशकारीणि भवन्ति । वशित्वं स्वातन्त्र्यंयेन स्वतन्त्रश्चरति । कामेन इच्छया अवशा-यितुं स्थातुं शीलमस्य कामावशायी शीङोग्रहादित्वाण्णिन् तस्य भावः कामावशायिता ।सर्व्वानन्दस्तु अनेकार्थत्वाद्धातूनां स्मृतिरिहतिष्ठत्यर्थः । अवशायी दन्तमध्य इत्याह । इतिभरतः ॥
