Sanskritविपर्य्यय वि + परि + इण--अच् । व्यतिक्रमे । २ अतस्मिं-स्तद्बुद्धौ च । पात० उक्ते ३ चित्तवृत्तिभेदे“विपर्य्ययो मिथ्याज्ञानमतत्प्रतिष्ठम्” पात० सू० ।“संशयस्यापि विपर्य्यत्वमतद्रूपप्रतिष्ठानत्वात् तस्यतद्धर्मिकभावाभावगोचरतया एकांशे अतद्रूपप्रतिष्ठत्वानपायात् । स कस्मात् न प्रमाणम्? । यतः प्रमाणन बा-ध्यते भूतार्थविषयत्वात् प्रमाणस्य, तत्र प्रमाणेन बाध-नमप्रमाणस्य दृष्ठम् । तद्यथा द्विचन्द्रदर्शनं सद्विषययेणैक-चन्द्रदर्शनेन बाध्यते” भा० । “स च पञ्चविधः अविद्या-ऽस्मितारागद्वेशामिनिवेशाः पञ्च क्लेशाः” पात० सू० ।इति पञ्च विपर्य्याया । इत्यादि भा० ।
