Lomaharshaṇa, a Sūta, father of Ugraśravas. § 26 (Āstīkap.): I, 13, 1026 (pitā me--i.e. Ugraśravas's--Lºḥ| śishyo Vyāsasya, had related the history of Āstīka to the ṛshis in the Naimisha forest).--§ 264 (Sabhākriyāp.): II, 4, 107 (sasutaḥ, among the munis who waited upon Yudhishṭhira).--§ 775 (Ānuśāsanik.): XIII, 166, 7672 (one of the ṛshis of the north). लोमहर्षण / LOMAHARṢAṆA. Father of sūta who told Purāṇic stories. (1st skandha, devī bhāgavata). He was a member of the court of yudhiṣṭhira. (Śloka 12, Chapter 4, Sabhā Parva).

 (विचित्रपुराणकथाश्रवणात्लोम्नां हर्षणं उद्गमो यस्मात् ।) सूतः । यथा, “पुराणसंहितां चक्रे पुराणार्थविशारदः ।प्रख्यातो व्यासशिष्योऽभूत् सूतो वै लोभहर्षणः ॥
पुराणसंहितां तस्मै ददौ व्यासो महामुनिः ॥
”इति विष्णुपुराणे ३ अंशे ७ अध्यायः ॥

स च बलरामेण हतः । यथा, --“तथा क्षेत्रे सूतपुत्त्रो निहतो लोमहर्षणः ।बलरामास्त्रयुक्तात्मा नैमिषेऽभूत् स्ववाञ्छया ॥
