मृत्योः कन्या सुनीथा या मातुर्दुःशीलकारणात् ।क्रूरा बुद्धिरभूत्तस्य जगतोऽस्यापि पीडने ॥
तपस्विनां कुले जाता ऋषीणाञ्च यशस्विनाम् ।सगुणां निर्गुणां वापि यान्ति मातामहीं तनुम् ॥
”इत्यग्निपुराणम् ॥
तन्मरणे त्रिरात्राशौचं यथा । मातामहानांमरणे त्रिरात्रं स्यादशौचकम् । इति शुद्धितत्त्वेकूर्म्मपुराणम् ॥

 दुहितृपर्य्यन्ताभावे तस्यश्राद्धे दौहित्रस्याधिकारो यथा,  --“मातामहानां दौहित्राः कुर्व्वन्त्यहनि चापरे ।ते च तेषां प्रकुर्ब्बन्ति द्बितीयेऽहनि सर्व्वदा ॥
”इति शुद्धितत्त्वम् ।दुहितृपर्य्यन्ताभावे तस्य धने दौहित्रस्याधि-कारो यथा । तदभावे दौहित्रः ।“पौत्त्रदौहित्रयोर्लोके विशेषो नास्ति धर्म्मतः ।तयोर्हि मातापितरौ सम्भूतौ तस्य देहतः ॥
”इति मनुवचने पौत्त्रतुल्याभिधानेन यथापुत्त्राभावे पौत्त्रस्तथा दुहित्रभावे दौहित्रः ।अतएव गोबिन्दराजधृतो विष्णुः ।अपुत्त्रपौत्रे संसारे दौहित्रा धनमाप्नु युः ।पूर्व्वेषां हि स्वधाकारे पौत्त्रदौहित्रकाः समाः ॥
