Mahā-niraṣṭa, a ‘great castrated’ ox, is mentioned as the
Dakṣiṇā, or ‘sacrificial fee, in the house of the Sūta at the
Rājasūya (‘royal consecration’) in the Yajurveda Saṃhitās.^1
