भूर्लोकः,
पुं,
 (भूःसंज्ञको लोकः । शाकपार्थिवादि-वत् समासः ।) अन्तरीक्षादधो लोकः । मर्त्य-लोकः । तस्य लक्षणं यथा, --“पादगम्यञ्च यत्किञ्चित् वस्त्वस्ति पृथिवीमयम् ।स भूर्लोकः समाख्यातो विस्तारोऽस्य मयो-दितः ॥
”इति विष्णुपुराणे । २ अंशे ५ अध्यायः ॥
चरणसञ्चारयोग्यं गिरिशिखरादि यावत् ताव-दुत्सेधो भूर्लोक इत्यर्थः । विस्तारो मयोदितःसर्व्वतो लोकालोकावधिः पञ्चविंशतिकोटि-प्रमाणः । इति तट्टीकायां स्वामी ॥
अस्य विव-रणं तत्रैव द्वितीयादिचतुर्थाध्यायेषु भूगोल-शब्दे च द्रष्टव्यम् ॥
(यथा, भागवते । २ ।५ । ३८ ।भूर्लोकः कल्पितः पद्भ्यां भुवर्लोकोऽस्यनाभितः ॥
