भद्र १ / BHADRA I. A king of cedi who fought on the Pāṇḍava side. karṇa killed him. (karṇa Parva,  Chapter 56,  Verse 48).

भद्र २ / BHADRA II. One of the four elephants which,  from pātāla,  support the world. (See aṣṭadiggajas).

भद्र ३ / BHADRA III. Son of Sraddhā,  daughter born to svāyambhuva manu by his wife śatarūpā. Sraddhā had the following sons: Śubha,  prasāda,  Maitrīputra,  abhaya,  Dayātmaja,  Śāntija,  bhadra,  Muda,  Tuṣṭija Smaya,  Puṣṭija and yoga. (bhāgavata,  Caturtha skandha)

भद्र ४ / BHADRA IV. A yakṣa,  one of the ministers of kubera. He had to be born as a lion on account of the curse of sage gautama.

नन्दिन्यपिच त्रिशिराः सुमुखी करालिकाचैव वैकृतिरौद्रमुखी चचतुर्मुखी विष्टयः क्रमशः” । चतुर्थ्यादितिथिसम्बन्धिभद्रानामामाभिधानं नामसादृश्येन कलतारम्यसूच-नार्थम् । भद्रास्वरूपं रत्नमालायाम् “उद्बद्धोद्भटतरपी-डिताऽतिकृष्णा दंष्ट्रोग्रा पृषुहनुगण्डदीर्घनासा । कार्य्य-घ्नीहुतबहबहुलं समुद्निरन्ती विश्वान्तः पतति समन्ततोऽत्रविष्टिरिति” (२) । अथ चतुर्थ्यादितिथिषु भद्रायामुखपुच्छ-विभागादिकं शार्दूलविक्रीडितेनाह । पञ्चेति चतुर्थ्यादितिथीनां क्रमशः पञ्चादिप्रहरेषु शराः पञ्च नाड्यःआदिमा विष्टेर्भद्राया आस्यं मुखं यथा चतुर्थ्याः पञ्चम-प्रहरे,  आदिभूता पञ्च धट्यो भद्रामुखम् एवमष्टम्या भद्रापुच्छमित्यर्थः । यदाह गुरुः“भूतदस्रस्वराम्भोधिवसुवह्न्यङ्गरूपकाः । यामेष्वेषुक्रमादास्य भवेत तिथ्यर्द्धविष्टिष्विति” । व्यवहारसमुच्चये“दशम्यामष्टम्यां प्रथमघटिकापञ्चकपरं हरिद्युः सप्तम्यांद्विदश १२ घटिकान्ते त्रिघटिकम् । तृतीयाराकायां स्वयम२० घटिकाभ्यः परभवं शुभं विष्टेः पुच्छं शिवतिथिचतुर्थ्यास्तुविरमे” इति । हरिद्युरेकादशी राका पूर्णिमा । ननुभद्रा देवतेत्यभिधीयते तस्याः पुच्छकथनात्तु पशुत्वसिद्धि-र्दृश्यते देवता च कथं पशुर्भवितुमर्हति । सत्यंदैत्येन्द्रैर्देवेषु पराजितेषु रुद्रस्य ज्वालामालाकुसनेत्रालोकितदेहात् देवी भद्रासंज्ञा मुखपुच्छादिमत्येवउत्पन्ना दैत्यान् जघान यदुक्तं श्रीपतिना दैत्यैन्द्रैःसमरेऽमरेषु विजितेष्वीशः क्रुधा दृष्टवान् स्व-ङ्कायं किल निर्गता स्वरमुखी लाङ्गूलिनी च त्रिपात् ।विष्टिः सप्तभुजा मृगेन्द्रगलका क्षानोदरी प्रेतगा दै-त्यघ्नी मुदितैः सुरैस्तु करणप्रान्ते नियुक्ता सदेति” ।भद्राकृत्यमाह वसिष्ठः “बधबन्धविषाग्न्यस्त्रच्छेदनीच्चा-टनादि यत् । तुरङ्गमहिषोष्ट्रादि कर्म विष्ट्यान्तु सि-द्ध्यति । न कुर्य्यान् मङ्गलं विष्ट्यां जीवितार्थी कदा-चन । कुर्वन्नज्ञस्तदा क्षिप्रं तत् सर्वं नाशतां व्रजेत्” ।तत्राङ्गविभागः फलञ्च कश्यपसंद्वितायाम् “मुखेपञ्च गले त्वेका वक्षस्येकादश स्मृताः । नाभौ-चतस्नः षट् कट्यां तिस्रः पुच्छे तु नाडिकाः । का-र्य्यहानिर्मुखे मृत्युर्गले वक्षसि निःस्वता । कट्यामुत्मत्ततानामौ च्युतिः पुच्छेध्रुवी जयः” । अयञ्च भद्राङ्गविभागोनाडीनां त्रिंशतोन्यूनाधिकत्वे तु त्रैराशिकेन मुखा-दीनामङ्गानां विभागज्ञानं यथा यदि नाडी त्रिंशताइदमुक्तमङ्गपरिमाणं इष्टपरिमाणेन किमिति त्रैराशिकम्एवं सति उक्ताङ्गपरिमाणं भद्राभोगमितघटीभिःसङ्गुण्यं त्रिंशता भाज्यं लब्धसमोऽङ्गविभागः । तत्रमुखादिकाशा रत्नमालायाम् “जलशिखिशशिरक्षःशर्वकीनाशवायुत्रिदशपतिककुप्सु प्रोक्तमास्यं हि विष्टेः ।नियतमृषिभिराशासंख्यया प्रक्रमेण स्फुटमिह परिहार्य्यंमङ्गलेष्वेतदेव” । जलं वरुणः कीनाशा यमः शुक्लचतुर्थ्याउत्तरार्द्धे पश्चिमदिशि भद्रामुखं तच्चाशासंख्यक्रमेणपञ्चमे प्रहरे भवति अर्थादेव भद्रायाः प्रहरचतष्टयाधिकस्थितभावादन्मे एव घटिकात्रयं पुच्छं ततोऽ-ष्टम्यां द्वितीयप्रहरेऽनेन प्रकारेण आग्नेय्यां दिशि-मुखं मुखाच्च प्राक् परिहारमाह तथेति विष्टिस्तिथ्यपरार्द्धजातिय्युत्तरार्द्धे संभूता वासरे दिवसे यदि स्याद् भद्रातदा शुभकरी तेनैव प्रकारेण तिथिपूर्वार्द्धजा भद्रारात्रौ चेत् स्यात् तदा शुभा शुभकरो स्यात् । Every dictionary entry will have top right corner menu . From there, you can hide or unhide dictionary. You must login to use this feature. So, KST can remember your preferences of hidden dictionaries.
