Pra-mota is the name of some sort of disease in the Athar-
vaveda, ^1 according to the St. Petersburg Dictionary. Zimmer, ^2
however, thinks that the word must be an adjective meaning
‘dumb.’ This view is accepted, though with doubt, by
Whitney^3 and by Bloomfield.^4
