 पुमिनोति प + मि--तृच् । प्रमाज्ञानकर्त्तरि ।न्यायनये “यस्येप्साजिहासाप्रयुक्तस्य प्रवृत्तिः स प्र-माता” वात्स्या० । सांख्यमते शुद्धचेतनो वृत्तिसाक्षी स ।प्रमाणशब्दे तद्वाक्यम दृश्यम् । वेदान्तिमते “मेहातीतोविशुद्धो मुनिभिरभिहितो मौहसंक्रान्तमूर्त्तिः साक्षीसंवित् प्रमा तत्प्रतिफलितवपर्गीयतेऽसौ प्रमाता” इत्यु-क्तदिशा अन्तःकरणवृत्तिप्रतिबिम्बितं तदवच्छिन्नं वाचैतन्यमेव प्रमाता ।
