पोष्यः, त्रि, (पुष्यते इति । पुष + ण्यत् ।) पोष-णीयः । पोषितव्यः । पुषधातोः कर्म्मणि यप्रत्यय-निष्पन्नः ॥
(यथा, राधातन्त्रे चतुर्द्दशपटले ।“नन्दगोपस्य देवेशि ! कृष्णस्तु सर्व्वदा प्रियः ।आत्मना जायते यस्तु आत्मजः स उदाहृतः ।पोष्यः पुत्त्र इति ख्यातो नन्दस्य वरवर्णिनि ! ॥
