"राजा और नाई के पुत्र का न्याय, कहते हैं कि एक नाई किसी राजा के यहाँ नौकर था, एक बार राजा ने उसे कहा कि मेरे राज्य में जो लड़का सबसे सुन्दर हो उसे लाओ। नाई बहुत दिनों तक इधर उधर भटकता रहा परन्तु उसे ऐसा कोई बालक नहीं मिला जैसा राजा चाहता था। अन्त में थककर और निराश होकर वह घर लौट आया - तब उसे अपना कला-कलूटा लड़का ही अत्यंत सुन्दर लगा। वह उसी को लेकर राजा के पास गया पहले तो उस काले कलूटे बालज्क को देख कर राजा को बड़ा क्रोध आया परन्तु यह विचार कर कि मानव मात्र अपनी वस्तु को ही सर्वोत्तम समझता है, उसे छोड़ दिया"
