teacher of the east, who was instructed by Śāṇḍilyāyana,

given, in the form of Dayyāṃpāti, to Plakṣa, the contemporary
of Atyaṃhas in the Taittirīya Brāhmaṇa (iii. 10, 9, 3-5).
