"डंडे और पूड़े का न्याय, जब डंडा और पूड़ा एक ही स्थान पर रक्ख गये - और एक व्यल्ति ने कह कि डंडे को तो चूहे घसीट कर ले गये और खा लिया, तो दूसरा व्यक्ति स्वभावतः यह समझ् लेता है कि पूड़ा तो खा ही लिया गया होगा - क्योंकि व्ह उसके पास ही रक्खा था। इसलिए जब कोई वस्तु दूसरी के साथ विशेष रूप से अत्यंत संबद्ध होती है और् एक वस्तु के संबंध में हम कुछ कहते हैं तो वही बात दूसरी के साथ भी अपने आप लागू हो जाती है, "
