तिककितवादि a class of compound words headed by the dvandva compound तिककितव in which the taddhita affixes added to the con- stituent members of the com- pound are dropped when the dvandva compound is to be used in the plural number
तैकायनयश्च कैत- वायनयश्च तिककितवाः

 “तिककितवादिभ्यो द्वन्द्वे” पा० उक्ते द्वन्द्वेबहुत्वे गोत्रप्रत्ययलुग्निमित्ते शब्दगणे । स च गणःपा० गणसू० उक्तो यथा “तिककितवा वङ्खरभण्डीरथाः ।उपकलमकाः । पफकनरकाः वकनणगुदपरिणद्धाःउब्जककुभाः लङ्कशान्तमुखाः उत्तरशलङ्कटा कृष्णाजिन-कृष्णसुन्दराः भ्रष्टककपिष्टलाः अग्निवेशदशेरुकाः” ।
