Takṣaka Vaiśāleya (‘descendant of Viśālā’) is a mythical
figure, mentioned as the son of Virāj in the Atharvaveda, ^1
and as Brāhmaṇācchaṃsin priest at the snake sacrifice in the
Pañcaviṃśa Brāhmaṇa.^2
