culately as a bell, river or beast.

English
णद् णद्, णम्, णश्, &c. Many roots which
really begin with the dental न् are written in
native grammars and the Dhātu-pāṭha with the cerebral
ण् to show that the nasal is liable to be cerebralized
when preceded by prepositions like प्र, परि, &c.
These roots will be found in the present Dictionary
under the dental न्। See नद्, नम्, नश्, &c.
