पुराणम्
Englishजातिस्मर / JĀTISMARA. A holy bath. It is mentioned in the mahābhārata, Vana Parva, Chapter 84, Stanza 128 that the body and mind of the person who bathes in this tīrtha (bath) will become pure.

Sanskritजातिस्मर जातिः स्मर्य्यतेऽत्र स्नानादिना स्मृ--आधारेबा० अप् । १ तीर्थभेदे “ततो देवह्रदेऽरण्ये कृष्णवेनाजलो-द्भवे । जातिस्मरह्रदे स्नात्वा भवेज्जातिस्मरो नरः” भा०व० ८५ अ० । जातिं पूर्वजन्मवृत्तान्तं स्मारति स्मृ--अच् । २ पूर्व-जन्मवृत्तान्तस्मारके । तत् स्मरणहेतुकर्म च मनुनोक्तंयथा “वेदाभ्यासेन सततं शौचेन तपसैव च । अद्रोहेणच भूतानां जातिं स्मरति पौर्बिकीम्” । “शुभेन कर्मणातेन जाता जातिस्मरा मृगाः । त्रासानुत्पाद्य संविग्ना-रम्ये कालञ्जरे गिरौ” हरिवं २१ अ० ।
