Abhyankara Grammar

चूर्णि a gloss on the Sutras of Panini referred to by Itsing and Sripati- datta, Some scholars believe that Patanjali's Mahabhasya is referred to here by the word चूर्णि, as it fully discusses all the knotty points. Others believe that चूर्णि, stands for the Vrtti of चुल्लिभाट्टि. In Jain Reli- gious Literature there are some brief comments on the Sutras which are called चूर्णि and there possibly was a similar चूर्णि on the sutras of Panini.
