गुणादि a class of words headed by the word गुण, which, when pre- ceded by the word बहु in a Bahuvrihi compound, do not have their last vowel acute
e. g. बहुगुणा रज्जुः
बह्वक्षरं पदम् , etc. This class of गुणादि words is considered as आकृतिगण
cf. Kas, on P. VI. 2.176.

गुणादि “गुणादयोऽवयवाः” । (“अवयववाचिनःपरे गुणादयोनान्तोदात्ताः”) पा० सूत्रविहितान्तो-दात्ततानिषेधनिमित्ते १ शब्दगणे । स च गुण “गुणअक्षर, अध्याय सूक्तछन्दस् मान” । २ गुणकर्म्मजाति-समवायविशेषाभावेषु “गुणादिर्निगुणक्रियः” भाषा० ।
