गाथिन, अस्, m. a patronymic from Gāthin.

Gāthina. The sons of Viśvāmitra are described in the
Aitareya Brāhmaṇa^1 as Gāthinas, or descendants of Gāthin,
who, according to tradition, was their grandfather
^2 and
Viśvāmitra himself is styled Gāthina in the Sarvānukramaṇī.
