 कोटिज्या स्त्री सू० ति० उक्ते अहस्पटतासाधनाङ्गे चा-पावयवभेदे तदानयनं यथा“गताद्भुजज्या विषमे गम्यात् कोटिः पदे भवेत् । युग्मेतु गम्याद्वाहुज्या कोटिज्या तु मताद्भवेत्” सू० सि० । “वि-षमे पदे गताद्ग्रहस्य पदादितो यद्गतं राशित्रिभागात्मकं-प्राग् ज्ञातं तस्मादित्यर्थः भुञज्या स्यात् । गम्याद्गतोनंत्रिभं ग्रहात् पदान्तावधिकमेत्यम् । तस्मात् कोटिः के-टिज्या स्यात् । युग्मे समे तुकारात् पदे एव्याद्भुजज्या, गतात् कोटिज्या स्यात् तुकारो विशेषद्योतकः । एकस्मा-देवोक्तरीत्या द्वयं साधितमित्यर्थः । अत्रोपपत्तिः विषमपदेग्रहोच्चोर्ध्वाधररेखान्तरानुसारेण फलमुत्पद्यते ततो वृ-त्तात्तस्तदतरमर्धज्या भूजरूपा तदर्द्धचाप तदन्तरांशावृत्तभागस्था गताः । ऊर्ध्वाधररेखामत्स्यसम्पन्नतिर्यग्रे-खाग्रहयोरन्तरसूत्रमर्धज्यापदान्तः कोटिज्या भुजोत्क्र-मज्योनव्यासार्धरेखारूपकोटितुल्यत्वात् । तदद्धचापं भु-जांशोनं त्रिभमित्रि गम्यात् कोठिज्या । समपदे ग्रहोर्ध्वा-धररेखान्तर तिर्यगर्धज्या भुजज्येति तदर्धं चापं यद्येष्यंतिर्यग्रेखाग्रहान्तरं तिर्यगर्धज्याकोटितुल्यत्वात् कोटि-स्तच्चापं पदगतमित्युपपन्नं गतादित्यादि” रङ्गनाथः
