EnglishEx. 129 This maxim is used to describe a miser, (a greedy person) who neither gives money to the needy nor uses it for his own pleasures. This miser does not use his wealth for others nor does he use it for his own benefit. Such wealth however, is generally stolen away by the thieves or lost in his presence. When a thing does not help the bearer, it is practically lost before him. In this situation the man becomes helpless in spite of having plenty of wealth.
