raṇyaka Upaniṣad. In the Kāṇva (vi. 5,  2) recension he is a
pupil of Prācīnayogīputra
 in the Mādhyaṃdina (vi. 4,  33)
recension his teacher's name is Prāśnīputra Āsurivāsin.
