Englishउक्थादि a class of words headed by the word उक्थ to which the taddhita affix इक (ठक् ) is applied in the sense of 'one who studies and understands'

Sanskritउक्थादि ६ त० । तदधीते वेत्ति वेत्यऽर्थे विहित--ठक्प्रत्यय-निमित्ततया पाणिन्युक्ते शब्दसमूहे स च गणः “उक्थ-लोकायत न्याय न्यास पुनरुक्त निरुक्त निमित्त द्विपद ज्यो-तिष अनुपद अनुकल्प यज्ञ धर्म्म चर्च्चा क्रमेतर श्लक्ष्णसंहिता पद क्रम संघट्ट वृत्ति परिषद् संग्रह गण गुणआयुर्वेद तन्त्रायुर्वेद” । “उक्थं सामविशेषस्तल्लक्षणपरो-ग्रन्थविशेषोलक्षणया तदधीते वेद वा औक्थकःमुख्यादुक्थशब्दाट्ठगणौ नेष्येते” सि० कौ० ।
