AsiDAra {% n. %} A particular vow variously explained
according to some, it consists in standing on the edge of a sword
according to others, in being constantly near a youthful girl and resisting the temptation of sexual enjoyment
(the Yādava explains it thus- युवा युवत्या सार्धं यन्मुग्धभर्तृवदाचरेत् । अन्तर्निवृत्तसंगः स्यादासिधारं व्रतं हि तत्), अभ्यस्यतीव व्रतमासिधारम् R.xiii.67.Figuratively the word is used in the sense of “a difficult task or undertaking.” Thus Bhartr. says- सतां केनोद्दिष्टं विषममसिधाराव्रतमिदम्. (Cf. असिधाराव्रत.)
