Sanskritआचमनीयं, (आचम्यतेऽनेन । आङ् + चम् +अनीयर् ।) मुखप्रक्षालनार्थजलं । तद्दानविधि-र्यथा, कालिकापुराणे ६७ अध्यायः ॥
“दद्यादाचमनीयन्तु सुगन्धिसलिलैः शुभैः ।कर्पूरवासितैर्व्वापि कृष्णागुरुसुधूपितैः ॥
यथा तथा सुगन्धैर्व्वा प्रसन्नैः फेनवर्ज्जितैः ।तत्तैजसेन पात्रेण शङ्खेनाथ प्रदापयेत् ॥
उदकं दीयते यत्तु प्रसन्नं फेनवर्ज्जितं ।आचमनाय देवेभ्यस्तदाचमनमुच्यते ॥
केवलं तोयपात्रेण तदा दद्यान्नमिश्रितं ।वासितन्तु सुगन्ध्याद्यैः कर्त्तव्यं यदि लभ्यते ॥
आयुर्ब्बलं यशोवृद्धिं प्रदायाचमनीयकं ।लभते साधको नित्यं कामांश्चैव यथेप्सितान्” ॥

Sanskritआचमनीय आचमनाय दीयते वृद्धात् छ आ + चम--करणेबा० अनीयर् वा । आचमनीयार्थेदेये जातीफलादिचूर्ण्णमि-श्रिते षट्पलमिते १ जले आचमनशब्दे प्रमाणमुक्तम् ।“आचमनीयमाचनीयमाचमनीयं प्रतिगृह्यतामिति” भवदे०कर्मणि अनीयर् । पेयजले २ स्वार्थे कन् तत्रैव । अर्घ्यमा-चनीयकम्” षोडशोपचारः “उच्छिश्चोऽप्यशुचिर्वापियस्य स्मरणमात्रतः । शुद्धिमाप्नोति तस्मैते पुनराचमनीय-कम्” गौतमीयम् ।
