पुराणम्
Englishआग्निवेश्य / ĀGNIVEŚYA (agniveśa). An ancient sage who received an armour and the sacred mantras associated with it from bṛhaspati. He was the Ācārya of dhanurveda and the revered preceptor of droṇa. (Ślokas 67 and 68, Chapter 94, droṇa parva, M.B.).

in the Vaṃśas or Genealogies of the Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad.
In the Mādhyandina recension^1 Āgniveśya is a pupil of
Saitava. In the Kāṇva recension he is a pupil of Śāṇḍilya
and Ānabhimlāta in one Vaṃśa, ^2 and of Gārgya in the second
Vaṃśa.^3
