avaṣaṅga, m., some part of a building: Mvy 〔5570〕 = Tib. ya phubs (? top roof?). Prof. Lo Chʼang-pei informs me that the Chin. translation now means grand, huge or empty, but that the ‘radical’ of the sign suggests a possible original meaning roof.
