 (अपध्वस्यतेऽनेन, अपध्वन्स +करणे घञ्, अपध्वंसो जातीनां भिन्नतासम्पा-दकः सङ्करस्तस्माज्जायते, अपध्वंस + जन् + ड, उपपदसमासः ।) वर्णसङ्करः । यथा, --“शूद्राणान्तु सधर्म्माणः सर्व्वेऽपध्वंसजाः स्मृताः” ।इति मनुः । (प्रतिलोमजातः । भिन्नवर्णसङ्गम-जातः । करणादिसंकीर्णवर्णः ।)

अपध्वंसज पुंस्त्री अपध्वस्यतेऽनेन अपध्वंसः वर्णानां भिन्न-रूपतासंमादकः सङ्करस्तस्माज्जायते जन--ड ५ त० ।भिन्नवर्णसङ्गमजाते करणादौ सङ्कीर्णवर्णे । “शूद्राणां तुसधर्म्माणः सर्व्वेऽपध्वंसजाः स्मृता” इति मनुः “ये द्विजा-नामपसदा ये चापध्वंसजाः स्मृता” इति च मनुः । तेषांपित्रीः समवर्णत्वाप्राप्तेः स्वरूपप्रच्यवेन जातत्वात् तथात्वम् ।
