तत्रसाग्निकर्त्तव्यमातृपक्षश्राद्धं । यथा शङ्खः ।“पित्रादित्रिकपत्नीषु भोज्या मातॄः प्रतिद्विजाः ।स्त्रीणामेव तु तद्यस्मान्मातृश्राद्धमिहोच्यते” ॥
एतच्चान्वष्टकाश्राद्धं साग्निमात्रेण कर्त्तव्यं ।तथा च विष्णः । अन्वष्टकास्वष्टकावदग्नौ हुत्वामात्रे पितामह्यै प्रपितामह्यै पूर्व्ववद्ब्राह्मणान्भोजयित्वा इति । अत्र होमत्वादेवाग्निप्राप्तेरग्नि-ग्रहणं तन्नियमार्थं । न चाग्नौ करणहोमे विप्र-पाण्यादेर्व्विधानादत्रापि तथेति वाच्यं । प्रकृती-भूतश्राद्धविध्युक्तस्याधारान्तरस्य विकृतीभूतश्राद्धेविशेषविहिताधारेण बाधात् । शरमयवर्हिषाकुशमयवर्हिर्बाधवत् । न वा लौकिकाग्नौ होमः ।“न पैत्रयज्ञियो होमो लौकिकाग्नौ विधीयते” ।इति मनुवचनेन निषेधात् । श्राद्धचिन्तामणा-वप्येवं । इति श्राद्धतत्त्वं ॥

Sanskritअन्वष्टका स्त्री अनुगतोऽष्टकाम् । श्राद्धकालभेदे स च अग्र-हायण्या ऊर्द्ध्वं तिस्रः कृष्णाष्टम्यः अष्टकाः, तदुत्तरवर्त्ति-न्यस्तिस्रः कृष्णनवम्यः तद्रूपः । ताश्च साग्निकस्य मात्रादि-श्राद्धकालः । तथाहि “अष्टका योर्द्ध्वमाग्रहायण्यास्त-मिस्राष्टमीति” गोभि० । “पितृदानाय मूले स्युरष्टकास्तिस्रएव च कृष्णपक्षे वरिष्ठाश्चेति” ब्रह्मपु० । आश्वलायन-गृह्ये तु ताश्चतस्र इत्युक्तम् यथा । हेमन्तशिशिरयोश्चतु-र्ण्णामपरपक्षाणामष्टमीष्वष्टका” इति । “एकस्यां चतुसृषु वेति”विकल्पश्रंवणात् सामर्थ्यभेदेन एकस्यां तिसृषु चतुर्षु वाअष्टकाश्राद्धम् अन्वष्टकाश्राद्धं च कार्य्यमिति गम्यते । तत्रपशुकल्पस्थालीपाकाद्यङ्गजातमुक्त्वा “अपरेद्युरान्वकक्यमिति”सूत्रेण तदुत्तरवर्त्तिकृष्णनवमीसु तद्विहितम् तच्च मात्रादि-भ्योऽपि देयम् “पितृभ्यश्च हुत्वा मन्थवर्ज्जमुस्त्रीभ्यश्च सुरा-चाममिति” तत्रैवोक्तेः मनुनाऽपि “पितॄंश्चैवाष्टकास्वर्चेन्नित्य-मन्वष्टकासु” चेत्युक्तम् अत्र पितृपदमष्टकापक्षे स्वपरम्, अन्वका-पक्षे “स्त्रिया पुंवत्” इत्येकशेषेण मातृपितामहीप्रपिता-महीसहितपित्रादिपरम् । एवञ्च आश्वलायनगृह्ये मनुवचनेच पित्रादेरपि देवतात्वश्रवणात् मात्रादिमात्रदैवत्यं रघु-नन्दनोक्तं चिन्त्यं वस्तुतः शाखिभेदेन सपत्नीकपितृश्राद्धंमात्रादिदेवताकं वा तच्छाद्धमिति व्यवस्था । “पित्रादि-त्रिकपत्नीषु भोज्या मातॄः प्रति द्विजाः । स्त्रीणामेव तुतद्यस्मान्मातृश्राद्धमिहोच्यते” शङ्खवचनन्तु तासां वृथक्-श्राद्धविधानार्थम् । एतच्च अन्वष्टकाश्राद्धं साग्निकमात्रेणकर्त्तव्यम् । तथा च विष्णुः । “अन्वष्टकाष्वष्टकावदग्नौहुत्वा मात्रे पितामह्यै प्रपितामह्यै पूर्व्ववद्ब्राह्म-णान् भोजयित्वा” इति । अत्र होमत्वदेवाग्निप्राप्तेरग्नि-ग्रहणं तन्नियमार्थम् । न चाग्नौकरणहोमे विप्रपाण्यादेर्व्विधानादत्रापि तथेति वाच्यम् प्रकृतिभूतश्राद्धविध्यु-क्तस्याधारान्तरस्य विकृतीभूतश्राद्धे विशेषविहिताधारेणबाधात् । न वा लौकिकाग्नौ होमः “न पैत्र्ययज्ञियोहोमोलौकिकाग्नौ विधीयते” इति मनुवचनेन निषे-धात् । श्राद्धचिन्तामणावप्येवम् । श्रा० त० रघुनन्दनः ।
