Sanskritअन्तरप्रभव अन्तरेभ्यो भिन्नवर्ण्णमातृपितृभ्यः प्रभवतिप्र + भू--अच् ५ त० । सङ्कीर्णवर्ण्णे मूर्द्धावसिक्तादौ । अन्तर-प्रभवाश्च द्विविधाः अनुलोमजाः, प्रतिलोमजाश्च तत्रोत्कृष्ट-वर्ण्णात् अपकृष्टवर्ण्णायां स्त्रियां जाताः मूर्द्धावसिक्तादयःअनुलोमजाः, अपकृष्टवर्ण्णात् उत्कृष्टवर्णायां स्त्रियां जाताःप्रतिलोमजाः सूतादयः । “भगवन्! सर्व्ववर्ण्णानां यथा-वदनुपूर्व्वशः । अन्तरप्रभवानाञ्च धर्म्मान्नो वक्तुमर्हसीति”मनुः । एतेषां भिन्नवर्ण्णजातत्वात् अन्तरनामत्वमपिमनुना हि अनुलोमजान् प्रतिलोमजांश्च उक्त्वा “तान-न्तरनाम्नस्तु मातृदोषात् प्रचक्षते” इत्युक्तम् । अधिकं वर्ण्ण-सङ्करशब्दे वक्ष्यते ।
