अनग्निदग्ध Tatpur. I. m. f. n. (-ग्धः-ग्धा-ग्धम्)
^1 Not burnt
in or with fire.
^2 Not burnt on the funeral pyre, not hav-
ing received the obsequies in conformity with the religious
rites.
II. m. pl. (-ग्धाः) The name of a particular class of Pi-
tṛs or Manes, of those apparently who when alive did
not observe religious rites. See अग्निदग्ध and the following.

 न अग्निना दग्धः अस० स० । श्मशानकर्म्मणिअग्निसंस्कारहीने “ये अग्निदग्धा ये अनग्निदग्धा मध्येदिव” इति ऋ० १०, १५ २४, “अनग्निदग्धाः श्मशान-कर्म्म न प्राप्ता” इति भा० । विप्राणां पितृभेदे “अग्निदग्धा-नग्निदग्धान् काव्यान् बर्हिषदस्तथा अग्निष्वत्तांश्च सौम्यांश्चविप्राणामेव निर्देशेदिति” मनुः । वह्निना अदग्धे च ।
