Sanskrit(स्त्री) अतिशयेन लक्ष्यम् अलक्ष्यं च अविशिष्य व्याप्तिः व्यापनम् । १.अलक्ष्ये लक्षणस्य गमनम्, लक्षणदोषभेदः -न्या०। ‘शृङ्गी गौः’ इति गोः लक्षणे उक्ते महिषे अपि श्ङ्गित्वात् अतिव्याप्तिः। ‘अतिव्याप्तेरथाव्याप्तेर्न चासौ लक्ष्यते तया’ ध्वनिः१.१४। २.अतिशयेन व्यापनम् ।

Sanskritअतिव्याप्तिः, (अतिशयेन व्याप्तिर्व्यापनं ।) अतिशय-व्यापनं । अलक्ष्ये लक्षणस्य गमनं । यथा साध्या-भाववदवृत्तित्वमिति व्याप्तिलक्षणे धूमवान् वह्नि-रित्यत्र धूमाभावाधिकरणह्रदवृत्तित्वाभावमादायअतिव्याप्तिः । इति तार्किकाः ॥
स्वाव्यवहित-प्राक्क्षणावच्छेदेन रविभुज्यमानराशीयरवि-संयोगविशिष्टस्वान्तिमक्षणकत्वं मलमासत्वंभानुलङ्घिते अतिव्याप्तिवारणाय औत्पातिकभिन्न-त्वेन विशेषणीयं । इति मलमासतत्त्वटीका ॥
