apprehensive organ
there are eight such grahas, viz.
प्राण, ‘inhaling or nose
’ वाच्, ‘speech
’ जिह्वा,
‘tongue
’ चक्षुस्, ‘eye
’ श्रोत्र, ‘ear
’ मनस्,
‘mind
’ हस्त, ‘hand
’ त्वच्, ‘skin:’ these have
eight corresponding अति-ग्राहस् or objects, viz.
अपान, ‘exhaling substance
’ नामन्, ‘name
’ रस,
‘sap or taste
’ रूप, ‘form
’ शब्द, ‘sound
’ काम,
‘desire
’ कर्मन्, ‘action
’ and स्पर्श, ‘touch.’
