II. Bahuvr. Such food as may be eaten during a season
considered impure or improper for the performance of re-
ligious duties, as a season of mourning &c. (See अशौच.)
It is said to consist of cows milk, ghee, rice, kidney-beans,
barley, sesamum, and sea or river salt. The word occurs
also written अक्षारालवण. E. अ priv. and क्षारलवण (Dvan-
dva), sc. अन्न.

 (न क्षारलवणम् इति नञ्-समासः ।) हविष्यान्नविशेषः । महाहविष्यमितिख्यातं । यथा । “अशौचादिभक्ष्यगोक्षीरगोघृत-धान्यमुद्गतिलयवसैन्धवसामुद्रलवणात्मकद्रव्यं । कृ-त्रिमात् लवणात् भिन्नमक्षारलवणं मतं” । इदंमतन्तु स्मार्त्तस्य । रत्नाकरमतं । यथा --“गोक्षीरं गोघृतं चैव धान्यमुद्गयवास्तिलाः ।सामुद्रं सैन्धवञ्चैवमक्षारलवणं मतं” ॥
इति नारायणवन्द्यघटीयकृतशुद्धिकारिका ॥
