Sailaga is found in the Vājasaneyi Saṃhitā^1 and the
Taittirīya Brāhmaṇa^2 as the name of one of the victims at the
Puruṣamedha (‘human sacrifice’). ‘Robber’ seems to be
the sense of this word, as of Selaga.
