यथा, --“पाक्यं विडञ्च कृतके द्वयम् ।” इत्यमरः ॥
द्बे समुद्रतीरासन्नभवां लवणमृत्तिकां पाचयित्वानिष्पादिते लवणे । विट्लवणे । इति केचित् ।कृतके कृत्रिमे । पाक्यविड्लवणयोर्भेदेऽपि कृत-कत्वात् ऐक्यमिति स्वामी ॥
पच्यते इति पाक्यम् ।डु पच ञषौ पाके हसृय्वासोरितिघ्यण् चजोर्घि-तीति कः पाकेन निष्पादितमिति ष्ण्यो वा ।वेडति भिनत्ति विडं विडाक्रुशि इजुङत्वात्कः । इति भरतः ॥
तत्पर्य्यायः । विड्गन्धम् २काललवणम् ३ विड्लवणम् ४ । इति रत्न-माला ॥
द्राविडकम् ५ खण्डम् ६ कृतकम् ७क्षारम् ८ आसुरम् ९ सुपाक्यम् १० खण्ड-लवणम् ११ धूर्त्तम् १२ कृत्रिमकम् १३ । अस्यगुणाः । उष्णत्वम् । दीपनत्वम् । रुच्यत्वम् ।वाताजीर्णशूलगुल्ममेहनाशित्वश्च । इति राज-निर्घण्टः ॥
अपि च ।“विडं सक्षारमूर्द्ध्वाधः कफं वातानुलोमनम् ॥
ऊर्द्ध्वं कफमधो वातं सञ्चारयेदित्यर्थः ।दीपनं लधु तीक्ष्णोष्णं रूक्षं रुच्यं व्यवायि च ।विबन्धानाहविष्टम्भकृदगौरवशूलनुत् ॥
”इति भावप्रकाशः ॥
अन्यच्च ।“विडं लवणमुत्क्लेदि वह्नेर्बलविवर्द्धनम् ।मलवातामविष्टम्भशूलाटोपविबन्धनुत् ॥
