 युक्तिः,  स्त्री,
   (युज्यते इति । युज् + क्तिन् ।)न्यायः । इति मेदिनी । ते,  ४७ ॥
 (यथा, पञ्चतन्त्रे । ३ । १६३ ।“तस्य तद्बचनं श्रुत्वा धर्म्मयुक्तिसमन्वितम् ।उपगम्य ततोऽधृष्टः कपोतः प्राह लुब्धकम् ॥
”)लोकव्यवहारः । इति व्यवहारमातृका ॥
“धर्म्मशास्त्रविरोधे तु युक्तियुक्तो विधिः स्मतः ॥
”इति स्मृतिश्च ॥
अनुमानम् । यथा,  --“युक्तिष्वप्यवसन्नासु सपथेनैनमर्द्दयेत् ॥
युक्तिरनुमानम् ।अनुमानेन विज्ञेयं न स्यातां पत्रसाक्षिणौ ।इत्येकवाक्यत्वादिति विवरणम् ॥
 अथ युक्तिः ।नारदः ।उल्काहस्तोऽग्निदो ज्ञेयः शस्त्रपाणिश्च घातकः ।केशाकेशिगृहीतश्च युगपत् पारदारिकः ॥
कुद्दालपाणिर्विज्ञेयः सेतुभेत्ता समीपगः ।तथा कुठारहस्तश्च वनच्छेत्ता प्रकीर्त्तितः ॥
प्रत्यक्षचिह्नैर्विज्ञेयो दण्डपारुष्यकृन्नरः ।असाक्षिप्रत्यता ह्येते पारुष्ये तु परीक्षणम् ॥
प्रत्यक्षचिह्नैः रुधिराक्तखड्गादिभिः । पारुष्येवाक्पारुष्ये । शङ्खः । लोप्तहस्तश्च चौर इति ।नारदः ।अभीक्ष्णं दिश्यमानोऽपि प्रतिहन्यान्न तद्वचः ।त्रिचतुःपञ्चकृत्वो वा परतोऽर्थं तमावहेत् ॥
यदा धनिकेनाधमर्णिकस्त्रिचतुःपञ्चकृत्वो वात्वं मे ऋणं धारयसीति पुनःपुनर्दिश्यमानोऽपिन तद्बाक्यं प्रतिहन्ति तदोत्तरकालमनेनाभ्युप-गतोऽयमर्थ इत्यवधार्य्य तमर्थमृणिकाय दापये-दित्यर्थः ।” इति व्यवहारतत्त्वम् ॥

 नाट्या-लङ्कारविशेषः । तस्य लक्षणम् । यथा । “युक्ति-रर्थावधारणम् । उदाहरणं यथा,  --‘यदिसमरमपास्य नास्ति मृत्यो-र्भयमिति युक्तमितोऽन्यतः प्रयातुम् ।अथ मरणमवश्यमेव जन्तोःकिमिति मुधा मलिनं यशः कुरुध्वम् ॥
’इति वेणीसंहारः ।” इति साहित्यदर्पणम् ॥
(उपायः । यथा,  कथासरित्सागरे । ३९ । ५६ ।“तत्स शृङ्गभुजो देशान्निर्व्वास्येताचिरात् यथा ।तां पुत्त्र ! चिन्तयेर्युक्तिं त्वमन्यैर्भ्रातृभिः सह ॥
”भोगः । यथा,  सूर्य्यसिद्धान्ते । ७ । २४ ।“त्रिचतुःकर्णयुक्त्याप्तास्ते द्बिघ्नास्त्रिज्यया हताः ।स्फुटाः स्वकर्णस्तिथ्याप्ता भवेयुर्मानलिप्तिकाः ॥
”प्रमाणविशेषः । तद्यथा,  --“अत्रासां तन्त्रयुक्तीनां किं प्रयोजनमित्युच्यतेवाक्ययोजनमर्थयोजनञ्च ।”“असद्वादिप्रयुक्तानां वाक्यानां प्रतिषेधनम् ।स्ववाक्यसिद्धिरपि च क्रियते तन्त्रयुक्तितः ॥
व्यक्ता नोक्ताश्च ये ह्यर्था लीना ये चाप्य-निर्म्मलाः ।लेशोक्ता ये क्वचित्तन्त्रे तेषाञ्चापि प्रसाधनम् ॥
यथाम्बुजवनस्यार्कः प्रदीपो वेश्मनो यथा ।प्रबोध्यस्य प्रकाशार्थास्तथा तन्त्रस्य युक्तयः ॥
