15, 3, Neṣṭṛ is said to be another name of Tvaṣṭṛ
from his having assumed upon some occasion the
function of the Neṣṭṛ priest.

néṣṭṛ, m., Führer [vom Aorist von nī], namentlich (nach späterer Darstellung) der, welcher die Gattin des Opferers zum Somaopfer herbeiführt und die súrā bereitet. Im RV wird einmal ({15, 3}) der von den Götterweibern [Page756] begleitete, zum Somatrunke kommende Tvastar so bezeichnet, das andere Mal ({196, 5}) der Priester, dessen Schaar (várṇam) die Milchkühe (dhenávas) geleiten.
