Sanskritतण्डि कृतयुगोत्पन्ने ऋषिभेदे तत्कथा भा० आनु०१५ अ० । “ऋषिरासीत् कृते तात! तण्डिरित्येव विश्रुतःदश वर्षसहस्राणि तेन देवः समाधिना । आराधितोभू-द्भक्तेन तस्योदर्कं निशामय” इत्यादिका । महादेववराच्चतत्सुतस्य यजुर्वेदीयताण्डिनशाखाभेदे कल्पसूत्रकर्तृ-तेति तत्रैव १६ अ० उक्तं यथा “अक्षयश्चाव्ययश्चैव भवितादम्भवर्ज्जितः । यशस्वी तेजसा युक्तो दिव्यज्ञानसम-न्वितः । ऋषीर्णामभिगम्यश्च सूत्रकर्त्ता सुतस्तव ।मत्प्रसादाद्द्विजश्रेष्ठ! भविष्यति न संशयः” “सूत्रकर्त्ताताण्डिन इति यजुर्वेदे शाखाविशेषस्तत्र कल्पसूत्रकर्त्तेति”नीलकण्टः ।
