Sanskritक्लेदन क्लेदयति क्लिद--णिच् ल्यु । क्लेदकारके देहस्थेश्लेष्मभेदे तद्विवृतिः भावप्रकाशे“कफस्यैतानि नामानि क्लेदनश्चावलम्बनः । रसनः स्ने-हनश्चापि श्लेष्मणः स्थानभेदतः । अथ क्लेदनादीनांस्थानान्याह “आमाशयेऽथ हृदये कण्ठे शिरसि सन्धिषु ।स्थानेष्वेषु मनुष्याणां श्लेष्मा तिष्टत्यनुक्रमात्” । र्दाषाणांसकलशरीरव्यापिनामपि पञ्च पञ्च स्थानानीति बाहुल्या-भिप्रायेणेक्तानि । तथाच वागभटः “इति प्रायेण दो-षाणां स्थानान्येकीकृतात्मनाम । व्यापिनामपि जानीयात्कर्म्माणि च पृथक् पृथक्” । चरकश्च “ते व्यापिनोऽंपहृन्नाभ्योरधोमध्योर्द्ध्वसंश्रयाः” इति । अथ तत्तत्स्थानग-तस्य श्लेष्मणः कर्म्माण्याह “क्लेदनः क्लेदयत्यन्नमात्मश-क्त्यापराण्यपि । अनुगृह्णाति च श्नष्मस्थानान्यदककर्म्मणा” । अयमर्थः क्लेदनोऽन्नं क्लेदयति तेन संहत-मन्नं भेदं प्राप्नोति । अपराण्यपि श्लेष्मस्थानानि हृद-यादीनि मार्गेण गत्वा तत्र तत्र हृदयालम्बनसन्धारणरसग्रहणसमस्तेन्द्रियतर्पणसन्धिसंश्लेषणाद्युदक कर्म्म-भिरनुगृह्णानि उपकरोति । तथा च “रसयक्तात्मवीर्य्येणसृदयस्थावलम्बनम् । त्रिकसन्धारणं चापि विदधात्यव-लम्बनः” । त्रिकं शिरोबाहुद्वयसन्धिः । “उभावपिततः सौम्यौ तिष्ठतश्चान्तिके यतः । ततो “रसान्विजानी-यात् रसनारसनौ समौ” । रसना ररुनेन्द्रियं ण्सनः क-ण्ठस्थकफः । “स्नेहनः स्नेहदानेन समस्तन्द्रियतर्पणः ।श्लेष्मणः सर्व्वसन्धीनां संश्लेषं विदधात्यसौ” । २ क्लेदका-रक जलादौ ।
