काम्पिल्य / KĀMPILYA. An ancient town in South pāñcāla. It was the capital city of King drupada. śikhaṇḍī had come  to this city after his marriage. Once the King Daśārṇa came near this place and sent a brāhmaṇa messenger to kāmpilya. In olden days,  a King named brahmadatta used to rule over this city. (M.B. Udyoga Parva).
