in Skt. Gr., see pw s.v.), what is out of the question, an impossibility, only noted in phrase asthānam (etad) anavakāśo (regularly followed by yat-clause): Gv 〔498.5〕 etc. (see s.v. asthāna). Cf. anokāśa.

अनवकाश having no occasion or scope of application
used in connection with a rule the whole of whose province of application is covered by a general rule, and hence which becomes technically useless, unless it is allowed to set aside the general rule: cf. अनवकाशा हि विधयो बाधका भवन्ति- rules which have no opportunity of taking effect( without setting aside other rules ) supersede those rules
